Research Network for AR founded
The UniTyLab (Usability & Interaction Technology Laboratory) of the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences is a founding member of the innovation network „AR-Sensor 4.0 – Augmented Reality for industrial applications“, which is funded by the BMWi for 3 years.

„Augmented Reality“ refers to the computer-aided expansion of human perception. The aim of the foundation is to establish a research network on the topic of augmented reality. Partners from science and industry exchange information on the possible applications of the technology. With Augmented Reality, for example, employees in production can be supported in complex assembly processes or functional tests by the use of data goggles.

In addition to the UniTyLab at Heilbronn University, numerous companies and another scientific partner are involved: i3mainz, the Institute for Spatial Information and Measurement Technology at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. The founding of the network was initiated by the consulting company EurA Consult AG.

The first meeting of the network was on September 29th, 2016 at Heilbronn University. In the future, it will meet regularly at one of the network partners.
